Expansion Project
Including all mission agencies, only 1 in every 30 missionaries is working with the unreached people of the world. Our call from Christ is clear to reach all nations. Recent studies from The Joshua Project, show that 42.5% of the world is considered unreached. World Team is taking the call seriously and intentionally expanding into three of the most unreached countries in the world. This challenge brings many obstacles which are only overcome by God’s unfailing desire to reach all his people.
The stark reality is that the absolute number of non-believers is growing. There are more people alive today that do not know Christ than at any time in history. Over 151,000 non-believers die every day. The time is now to expand. (Joshua Project April 2022)
The World Team Expansion project will focus on reaching the unreached Muslims of the world. This project will establish a new Muslim-focused ministry within World Team. When considering the 50 largest unreached people groups of the world, 26 of them are Muslim. This new ministry will open the door for additional church planting and multiplication opportunities and the mobilization of new workers and projects.
The Expansion project will support the development of three new ministry initiatives that will be researched, developed, approved, and implemented by World Team US in partnership with World Team Global. The locations being explored for expansion will be in Paraguay, the Middle East, and Belgium. A New Initiative Team has been established for the purpose of completing the beginning stages of the project and will be dissolved when workers go to each of the fields.
