Donating FAQs

Our Donors ask…

Will World Team send me a bill?

Your commitment is a “faith promise” between you and the Lord, and so we will not send you a bill.

Are my gifts tax-deductible?

Any cash gifts (check, money order or credit card) or non-cash gifts (which could include stocks, bonds, mutual funds, securities, real estate and insurance) to World Team that are designated for ministry purposes are tax-deductible, as allowed by law. World Team is a 501(c)3 organization (EIN 59-1759927).

Can I be sure my gift will be used as intended?

Receipting of funds contributed to World Team is limited to board-approved missionaries and projects. We do honor gift designations.

Your receipt will reflect your designation. Gifts for a project will be used with the understanding that in the event the project is over-funded or unable to be completed for reasons beyond our control, gifts will be used for similar, board-approved projects.

How will my gifts be receipted?

Gifts are processed within two or three business days, and a receipt will be mailed to you along with a return envelope. Each receipt has a detachable bottom portion that you may send in with your next contribution. Your receipt will provide you with a year-to-date total of your giving and indicate whether gifts were tax-deductible or not, in accordance with federal tax laws.

Recurring credit card and EFT gifts will be receipted in January for the previous year’s donations.

What should I do if I don’t receive a receipt?

Please contact World Team and we will send you a duplicate receipt. For many people the receipt is a reminder for their next contribution. If the receipt is lost in the mail, our line of communication with you could be broken.

How do I notify World Team about contact or giving information changes?

Please notify Donor Services by email, mail, or phone. Include your name, address and the information to be changed.

Will World Team send me a year-end giving summary for my tax purposes?

The receipt you receive after your last gift of the year serves as your year-end receipt for tax purposes. The box in the upper right corner indicates your year-to-date giving.

If you are an EFT or monthly credit card donor, the receipt you receive in early January will provide you with your year-to-date giving and can be used for tax purposes.

What happens with my personal information?

World Team is committed to protecting your privacy. We will not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. The information you provide will be used to keep you current on the ministries and projects of World Team.

Are there transaction fees on donations made by credit cards?

Credit card gifts are assessed a 3% fee. This represents the average cost WT US pays to our credit card vendors. The 3% fee will be deducted from your credit card gifts.

How does World Team handle financial accountability?

World Team has an annual independent financial audit. We are also an accredited member of ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability).
