Micro-Finance & Community Development-Cameroon

The Micro-Finance Professional and/or Community Developer will join a holistic church planting team among the Fulbe of Cameroon to address the expressed needs of the people. Converts to Christianity lose all family monetary support and must learn how to support themselves and their churches in new ways. This role will use their expertise and experience to make a positive impact in the spiritual and economic lives of individuals and communities in the Adamawa Region.

Beginning as a student and a listener who is able to discern and develop contextually appropriate solutions, the Micro-Finance / Community Development professional will help believers who have lost their financial support develop or create options and/or networks to sustain themselves and their churches.

  • Training in entrepreneurship and/or community development
  • A solid commitment to the spiritual disciplines (i.e., Bible reading, prayer, etc.)
  • Become proficient in the local language and learn about the local culture
  • Analyze the economic system in which the people live
  • Brainstorm ideas for economic stimulation with the people
  • Launch projects designed to raise monetary support for individuals and communities
  • Introduce biblical truths to counter fatalistic beliefs
