The Story of “M”
Muslims make up 1.6 billion of the world’s population, with over 250 million Muslims living in South East Asia. We want them all to hear about Jesus.
“As part of World Team’s expansion into the Muslim world in Asia, I met M. As I helped her with school work, she shared about her culture, fear, pain and struggles. Her family told her many horror stories of how one would be punished by Allah for wrong actions. The fear of Allah’s impending punishment weighed heavily on M. One day, M had a question for me that her family could not answer. I was delighted by her curiosity, but without her mother’s permission, it would be inappropriate to share with M from the Bible.
I asked M’s mother for permission to share from the Bible. Immediately she asked if I am a Christian. I said yes and told her that I read the Bible every day. I invited her to read the Bible passage I had planned to share with M. After she finished reading it, she said yes to my talking with M!
God is using a child’s curiosity to break the ground to share about His creation and love for us! I’m thankful for M’s mother’s acceptance and trust. Please ask that God will protect our relationship and for this family to experience His unconditional love.” -World Team Worker in Asia
Muslims make up 1.6 billion of the world’s population, with over 250 million Muslims living in South East Asia. We want them all to hear about Jesus. Pray Green is focused on praying, equipping and mobilizing Christians to serve among the many unreached Muslims in Asia and beyond. WT Asia is specifically working to expand our Muslim ministry in China, Papua and Cambodia.
World Team is forming new teams that use everyday life events to build relationships with the Muslim community to share God’s love and message. Our relational approach includes teaching English classes, computer and job skills training, youth programs, health awareness, sports and starting businesses; all of which are aimed at bettering people’s lives. By meeting relevant needs, barriers are torn down, and we have a unique opportunity to find common ground, form relationships and share the love of Christ.
