“Train and Go” Apprenticeship
World Team offers an exciting short-term opportunity called “Train and Go” in partnership with Global Frontier Missions (GFM), an organization that focuses on training missionaries. This apprenticeship experience consists of two parts: Participants are first trained during a period of five months and then put into practice what they have learned during a cross-cultural internship lasting several months. The next two paragraphs describe both the training component offered by GFM and the cross-cultural internships organized by World Team.
Receive Your Training
The training element of the apprenticeship consists of GFM’s Missionary Training School that is conducted within a diaspora context near Atlanta, Georgia. The five-month training is offered twice a year, beginning either in January or in July (for more details, see the following link: Missionary Training Schools | Global Frontier Missions).
Go to Serve the Nations
After the training, participants embark on the “go” part, by completing a World Team internship in one of the following countries:
- Brazil: Brazil (Maués) Internship – World Team USA
- Cambodia: Cambodia (Battambang) Internship – World Team USA
- Philippines: Environmentalist Intern – The Philippines – World Team USA
- United States: The INN: Internship – World Team USA
The total cost of “Train and Go” will depend on the chosen location. The cost for the training part is $3,950 (this includes housing, utilities, and tuition, but not the transportation to Atlanta, Georgia). Combined with the internship expenditure listed in the links above, this would then constitute the overall cost for this yearlong experience. Please note that not every internship will be offered every semester.
