Video: We Are World Team
Transcript
What is World Team?
World Team is a global community of believers working in diverse teams to impact lives with the Gospel.
World Team’s Mission
World Team’s mission is to glorify God by working together to establish reproducing churches, focusing on the unreached peoples of the world.
We utilize tight-knit, innovative teams with unique and practical skill sets to reach communities all over the world with the love of Christ.
The Importance of Teamwork
I don’t think church planting is possible without a team.
In scripture, that’s what the Bible shows — that we all have different gifts.
One of the reasons we’re so glad we came with World Team is that it’s enabled us to join an existing and thriving community of missionaries already on the field.
Personally, being part of a team is really encouraging. On the days that are tough, you can either send a message to somebody or talk to someone else who knows exactly what you’re dealing with — and can either give you a word of encouragement or tell you that they are praying for you.
That’s huge.
Pouring into Communities
As God fills our teams through internal fellowship, we then pour that into the communities we serve.
The heart of World Team is to be with people and to make disciples.
The heart of World Team is to see the Scriptures change lives, and to see people organize themselves in local churches.
A Variety of Ministries, One Purpose
Every missionary with World Team is a church planter, but that doesn’t mean we all do the same thing.
We are Bible translators, but we also have doctors and nurses.
We have people who work with agriculture.
We have people who do sports ministry.
We have teachers.
We have tutors that teach kids in the homes of missionaries.
We have many different types of ministries that are going on, but we do all these different ministries with the same goal — of seeing self-sustaining churches.
All of our ministries are established with the goal of raising up leaders to carry on our ministry.
Raising Up Ministry Leaders
We raise up leaders because we don’t want to be here forever. That’s not our goal.
We are concerned about the people as a whole — what’s going to be best for them, and what’s going to equip them to plant churches, to grow churches, and to lead churches on their own.
God at Work
God is at work among the nations, and He is graciously using World Team to proclaim the Gospel to the unreached.
It’s just such an adventure.
You know, we’re not here to have adventure — but God gives us great adventure.
Churches are being planted, and communities of believers are multiplying, but the need for workers remains significant.
