Video: Acts of Faith – Spain

Transcript

This is Acts of Faith. Every day, World Team works to transform communities, make disciples, and reach the unreached. Our unique teams innovate, multiply, and expand the reach of the Gospel. Our vision and aim? To make Jesus known. Together, we share the hope of the Gospel on a global scale by meeting the needs of communities. These are our acts of faith.

Ada Cook – World Team Missionary – Translated – There is a huge need for God to remove the dark cloud that covers this country. The problem that we have right now in Spain, is secularism. Very few people believe in God. There is a lot of materialism.

Translated – My family doesn’t believe. My circle of friends doesn’t believe. They don’t know Him.

There are more than 6,500 villages in Spain with NO evangelical church.

Ada Cook – World Team Missionary – Translated – Spain spent a lot of time under a dictator. What happened is that the Church and the dictator were very united. It led to disillusionment amongst Spaniards towards religion. Also, for many years, reading the Bible for yourself was a crime. They have put their trust in politics and materialism. We are in a moment of economic crisis. After so much disillusion in this country people are asking, “Is there hope in anything?” We as Christians have the responsibility to tell people that God doesn’t fail. Here people want to see.

Translated – It caught my attention the fervor my friend lived his faith with. I went to his house many times to talk about God. I went to church with him, and with my wife and my son, and it caught my attention, the fact that you can have a relationship with God. And he told me… you can talk to God and He will listen to you. And that is a joyful thing I have discovered, that you can have a personal relationship with God.

Ada Cook – World Team Missionary – Translated – World Team’s philosophy is to begin with sharing the gospel, then we work with people in discipleship. It’s very important to World Team that churches multiply. The Bible says, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.” In reality, Spain needs workers. If people watching would pray it would be a huge blessing because God will move.
