Guiding Principles

These Guiding Principles Inform How We Carry Out Our Mission of Church Planting

Gospel-Centered
We seek to apply the gospel of Jesus Christ to all areas of life and ministry. The gospel is the message we are called to share and a truth that masters our hearts and shapes our interaction with the world around us.

Reliance on Prayer
Through prayer we grow in faith, wisdom, and our ability to love others like Jesus did. Individual and corporate prayer is a vital and vibrant part of World Team’s ministry. We invite friends and supporters of the mission to join us in praying by subscribing to our monthly prayer bulletin or participating in a field-hosted prayer conference.

Facilitative Mindset
In all that we do we aim to prepare our successors for success. Churches multiply when we draw out the gifts and talents of those we’re discipling so that they are equipped to carry out the ministry on their own.

Teamwork
We work in teams because living and serving in community is the best gospel witness to a watching world. Our extensive missions experience proves the African proverb that says: If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together. Teams with a diverse collection of gifts and experiences are better-equipped to endure and thrive among the challenges of cross-cultural ministry.

Holistic Church Planting
The gospel must be applied to the whole person; addressing physical, spiritual, and social needs. Our church planting teams develop unique ministries tailored to the specific needs of the people they serve. Running through all these ministries is the unifying thread of making disciples and establishing healthy churches that grow and multiply.

Incarnational Ministry
Most of our workers serve long-term, investing the time needed to learn language, culture, and build relationships. Our model is Christ, who emptied himself of the privileges and powers of divinity in order to carry out his mission.
