Trauma Healing Facilitator-Cameroon

Spread the love of Jesus by helping Baka individuals and communities overcome trauma. The Baka have endured trauma from other people groups and from within their own communities. Behavioral patterns are passed down from generation to generation, and life with the deep distress that trauma brings has sadly become normal and expected. As a Trauma Healing Facilitator, you will be impacting the Baka by introducing them to the emotional and spiritual freedom that only Christ can give.

The ideal candidate for this position will have trauma healing experience and a desire to impact the lives of Baka individuals affected by trauma. You will work closely with other Baka team missionaries and national believers to provide individual counseling, group meetings and education regarding biblical trauma healing.

Those in this position will engage with the Baka in their native language and will learn about their culture.

This position will require:

  • Christian Maturity: Evidence Christ-like character and leadership competency; a humble, loving spirit and a listening heart are essential.
  • Trauma Healing Education and Experience: Training in a biblical method of trauma healing and experience leading others through this method.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate biblical truth and authentic Christian love toward those struggling with trauma.
  • Language and Culture learning ability: Ability to learn French and Baka languages and Baka culture.
  • Develop a trauma healing program in the Baka language while taking into account the unique challenges and cultural elements that impact trauma among the Baka.
  • Meet regularly with trauma healing groups and individuals.
  • Engage and equip mature Baka leaders to carry out trauma healing ministries among their own people.
